Range Protocol and Safety

Cease Fire: clear your firearm.

Remove magazines,

open the action 

place on bench 

step back behind the red line.

When range is clear : You may go down range to check your targets. 

When everybody is back behind the bench and accounted for (and behind the red line)

Then the command for eyes & ears will be given.

You must have eye protection and ear protection on when on the firing line. 

When everyone is set, you will hear "the range is hot ". You may start shooting.

(During events, the command will be "commence firing.")

1: ALWAYS keep the gun pointed in a safe direction. (Preferably downrange)

2:ALWAYS kept your finger off the trigger until ready to shoot.

3:ALWAYS KEEP THE GUN unloaded until ready to use it.

Never be embarrassed to ask for help. If you don't know what to do with a particular gun or how it works, ask any range safety officer or the range director for assistance.  There are no dumb questions.  Everyone was a beginner at one time, some still are...
